URBAN SUCCESSION
Sculptures & Installations
I create sculptures & installations that home wild organisms. They come and go freely; they are not trapped inside. Some house full ecosystems, rather than an individual organism. Depending on the species I’m designing for, I may use different types of materials, such as ceramic, wood, cement, resin, plastic or metal. The hope is that this sculpture will not only perfectly shelter the organism(s) but also be aesthetically pleasing to the human sharing the area, so both can live in unison.

In 2014, Urban Succession was shown in the Oceanside Museum of Art as part of the DNA of Creativity exhibition. For that, I shared my concept with a team of sculptors & biologists. We worked together to produce multiple artworks for the exhibition.
